Run your own car service
Black-car, livery, local taxi, resort shuttle — if you move people, Waitlist App gives you a branded booking storefront where riders request a car, plus live driver dispatch, on-map tracking, distance-and-time fare quotes, scheduled pickups and card payment that settles straight to your own Stripe account, so you pay your drivers on your terms. No per-ride cut to a national platform, and the customer stays yours.
The platform economy takes a real toll
Rideshare platforms made on-demand booking feel effortless — but that convenience comes at a steep cost for operators. A significant share of every fare flows to the platform before you see a cent. Surge pricing you don't control can undercut your reputation. And the customer relationship belongs to the app, not to you: one algorithm change, one deactivation, and your revenue disappears overnight.
Independent operators — a ten-car livery company serving a regional airport, a driver co-op covering a rural county, a resort running guest shuttles — don't need a national marketplace. They need the tools a marketplace provides: clean booking, dispatch coordination, real-time tracking, and reliable payment collection. Waitlist App gives you exactly those tools without the middleman sitting between you and your riders.
What "the customer stays yours" actually means
Every booking made through your storefront is associated with your account, your contact list, and your brand. Riders see your name and your colors from the moment they tap the booking link to the moment they receive a receipt. You can follow up with repeat offers, seasonal promotions, or loyalty perks — because you hold the relationship, not a platform that could recommend a competitor on the very next screen.
This matters most at the edges of your business: the corporate account that books twelve airport runs a month, the wedding party that wants a dedicated contact, the hotel concierge who needs to trust that a car will arrive exactly when promised. Those relationships are built on consistency and direct communication, which platform-mediated bookings make structurally difficult.
Operate at any scale
The same storefront that works for a two-car operation on day one scales as you add vehicles, drivers, and vehicle classes. You are not locked into a pricing tier based on fleet size or ride volume. Whether you dispatch three rides on a quiet Tuesday or sixty rides around a concert weekend, the workflow is identical — assign, track, collect, done.
- Solo operators use the storefront as their entire booking infrastructure, replacing phone-tag scheduling with a link riders can bookmark.
- Small fleets add driver accounts, split vehicles into classes (sedan, SUV, van), and let the dispatch screen handle coordination without a separate radio system.
- Established livery companies use scheduled pickups and fare quoting to serve corporate contracts alongside walk-up bookings, all settled through a single Stripe account they already control.
Payment that works the way your business does
Card payment authorizes at booking and captures when the ride is complete, so you are never chasing down fares after the fact. Because funds settle directly into your connected Stripe account, you decide how and when drivers are compensated — whether that is a weekly payroll transfer, a per-shift settlement, or a contractor arrangement. The platform never touches your float, and there is no revenue-share invoice arriving at the end of the month.
For operators who currently collect cash or rely on manual invoicing, moving even a portion of bookings to card-on-file meaningfully reduces administrative overhead and eliminates the awkward end-of-ride payment moment that riders consistently rate as a friction point.
What a dispatch operation actually needs
- A rider booking storefront. Your own branded page where a rider sets a pickup and dropoff, picks a tier — sedan, SUV, limo — and sees the fare before they book. No app to download.
- Live driver dispatch. A ride request is broadcast to your on-shift drivers; the first to accept gets it, and the rider watches the car approach on the map.
- Fare quotes that make sense. Set a base fare, a per-mile and per-minute rate and a minimum per tier; the fare is quoted up front from real driving distance and time.
- Scheduled pickups. Riders book now or for later — airport runs, event nights, standing reservations.
- Payments and payouts. Take card payment in-app and split each fare to the driver automatically, so there's no end-of-shift cash to chase.
- Your whole fleet in sync. Drivers, dispatchers and the office see the same live board — who's available, who's on a ride, and where every car is.
How it works
For your riders
A rider opens your storefront link, enters pickup and dropoff, and picks a tier. They see the fare and estimated pickup time before confirming. Once a driver accepts, they watch the car approach on a live map and get a link to follow the whole trip — no account, no app install.
For your drivers
Drivers go on shift from their phone. New ride requests arrive as offers they can accept; the driver portal guides them from pickup to dropoff with a handoff to their maps app, and the fare is settled and split automatically at the end.
For dispatch
Your dispatch board shows every driver's status and position in real time, the active and scheduled rides, and a fleet summary. Assign, reassign or step in whenever you need to.
Common setups
Black-car & livery
Sedan, SUV and stretch-limo tiers with premium fares and scheduled airport and event pickups. Riders book from your own branded storefront instead of a national app that takes a cut and owns your customer.
Local taxi or driver co-op
Put your whole fleet on one live board, broadcast requests to on-shift drivers, and pay drivers out automatically — the coordination a dispatcher used to do by radio, on a screen.
Hotel, resort & venue shuttle
Let guests request a ride to and from the property, with your drivers dispatched from the same board the front desk already watches.
What you get — and what it takes
A car service is a serious operation, so here's the honest split:
- Enterprise capability: the rider booking storefront, live driver dispatch and tracking, fare quotes, scheduled pickups, the driver portal and the dispatch board make up the Dispatch capability, which runs on Enterprise. Your drivers hold Pro. This isn't a free walk-in waitlist — it's a full car-service back office.
- Payments: in-app card payment runs on Stripe and settles to your own connected account — you remain the merchant for every fare, and you pay your drivers yourself. Available where we've enabled payments; where they aren't yet, you can still dispatch, track and settle fares your own way.
We won't pretend a dispatch platform is a free feature — it's the paid, grown-up version of the product.
Frequently asked questions
Do riders need to download an app?
No. Riders book from your storefront link in any web browser and follow their trip from a private link. Nothing to install.
How are fares calculated?
You set a base fare, a per-mile and per-minute rate and a minimum for each tier. The fare is quoted from the real driving distance and time between pickup and dropoff, so the rider sees the price before they book.
How do drivers get paid?
Card payments are captured in-app and each fare is split to the driver automatically via Stripe payouts, so there's no end-of-shift cash reconciliation.
Can riders schedule a ride for later?
Yes. Riders can book immediately or schedule a pickup for a future time — airport runs, event nights and standing reservations all work.
Can I run more than one vehicle class?
Yes. Run as many tiers as you like — for example sedan, SUV and stretch limo — each with its own capacity and fare.
See it live, then run your own
The fastest way to understand it is to use it: open the live car-service storefront, book a demo ride and watch a driver get dispatched on the map. When you're ready, spin up your own branded storefront, add your tiers and fares, and put your drivers on shift.
What the live demo shows you
The MetroRide demo storefront is a fully functional example of the same system you would run for your own fleet. Nothing is mocked or pre-recorded. When you submit a booking request, the dispatch queue fills in real time, an assignment notification fires, and the driver view updates exactly as your drivers would see it on the road. Walk through it as if you were a first-time rider:
- Enter a pickup and drop-off address to see how the fare calculates instantly against a sample rate table.
- Choose a vehicle class — standard, business, or SUV — and notice how the interface adjusts to show class-specific details and pricing.
- Complete a test booking and observe the confirmation flow: SMS-style notification, booking reference, and estimated arrival window.
- Open the dispatch view in a second browser tab to watch your booking appear in the queue and get assigned to the nearest available demo driver.
Seeing the full round-trip — rider request to driver assignment to status update — in a single session answers most questions faster than any documentation can.
From demo to your own storefront in a single afternoon
Setting up is genuinely straightforward because the configuration layer is designed for operators, not developers. You do not need to write code or hire a technical team. The steps look like this:
- Create your account and choose a subdomain for your storefront (for example, yourbrand.waitlistapp.org).
- Add your vehicle tiers. Name them whatever matches your brand — Sedan, Executive, Sprinter — and set a base fare plus a per-mile or per-minute rate for each.
- Configure your service zone. Define the area where rides can be booked, so riders outside your coverage see a clear message rather than a failed booking.
- Invite your drivers. Each driver gets a login and immediately has access to the driver-side shift controls and job notifications.
- Test end-to-end by placing a live booking yourself and having one of your drivers accept it. When it works the way you expect, you are ready for real customers.
Grow into the features you need
Most operators start with a single vehicle tier and a handful of drivers, then expand as bookings increase. Because every feature — advanced scheduling, multi-tier pricing, driver shift management, corporate account billing — is available from day one, you are not waiting on a product roadmap or a costly upgrade. You can activate what you need, when you need it, without disrupting ongoing operations.
If you have questions before committing, the demo is always there. Use it again. Share the link with a co-owner or an investor who wants to understand what the rider experience looks like. There is no time limit and no sales call required to explore it.
